Missionary Care

The Need for Missionary Care

The life of a missionary and/or missionary family is full of sacrifice. Those called to the mission field leave all that is familiar to begin a new life in a country foreign and unknown to them. The challenges they encounter impact themselves and their family as a whole. Those called to be missionaries give fully to the work and often their only connections are other missionary families who are facing the same struggles. While missionary work is rewarding, it is often lonely. The need for support and care can be great. We want to help meet that need at Well Christian Care by providing three care options.

Missionary Care Options

  • Care Sessions

Well Christian Care offers virtual care for those serving in global capacities. Virtual care combines the convenience of remaining on the field with the quality of competent Christian counseling that addresses the challenges of missions work and the struggles of missionaries. We offer in-person sessions for missionaries on furlough and staying or traveling locally.

  • Care Trip

A Care Trip is a short-term mission trip specifically designed to support missionaries with Christian counseling. Teams are led by an experienced caregiver from Well Christian Care and may also include others who would encourage the missionary. Well Christian Care will organize the trip in collaboration with sending churches and agencies while honoring confidentiality.

  • Care Sabbatical

A Care Sabbatical combines the ideas of debrief, counsel, and respite. It is an intentional pause from all the ministry contexts to breathe and freely examine struggles and goals. Well Christian Care will tailor the time and resources to meet the specific needs of those seeking help in collaboration with sending churches and agencies while honoring confidentiality.

FAQs

Beloved, it is a faithful thing you do in all your efforts for these. For they have gone out for the sake of the name, accepting nothing. Therefore we ought to support people like these, that we may be fellow workers for the truth.
